  31. And you may also wish to know if it's a 'builtin' serial port (i.e.,
  32. a native PC port) or some third-party add-in serial port. Many of these
  33. do not behave identically to a standard PC serial port, come with thier
  34. own utilities for managing port parameters (so that in some cases, at
  35. least, setting parameters using the normal ioctls doesn't do the right
  36. thing) or other weirdness. I know just enough about these things (from
  37. having been subjected to one or two of 'em at work) to know I'd avoid
  38. them if there were any way.
